Back to where it all begun. Can't help but feel a little nostalgic about coming back to this event, actually I'm not sure nostalgic is the right word as there are quite a few emotions about it.
As some of you know, the 2016 edition occured the day after I lost one of my best friends. I will never forgot summiting Perisher and thinking of him, putting the 'result' aside, it was without doubt the most poignant moment I have had on a bike.
So you guys can see why this event means so much to Elizabeth and myself and why I was delighted 1. it went ahead and 2. a great friend like Jesse crossed the line first.
But with that said, I would like to talk later in the week about my thoughts and the thoughts of some of the other guys I rode with about how these types of events can best handle these serious weather events.
We had 2 Alpine events here in Australia this weekend, both of which were affected by the weather and handled it in different ways
